Indie Reading Book

My book that i'm reading is Hatchet. I know its an easy book but I never read it before, I only saw the movie. The main character is Brian Robeson. I've only read up to 24 pages (two chapters) and his personality developes when the pilot had an heart attack. Brian was scared and he didn't know what to do. He saw a radio and in the other end, someone responded but they were losing signal. Brian waited for an answer for half an hour but no one responded.
