I think Caroline B. Cooney is trying to say that people will slack off and people will start getting pressure and nervous. (i.e. Mitty gets alot of pressure because of his report for advance biology class with 10 pages and he really wants to stay in that class because Oliva is in the same class.) Mitty found something for his report, Variola Major(Smallpox virus). He decided to research on that because it was unknown and no one has a cure for it. He finds out that smallpox attack cells and multiply throughout the body. Mr. Lynch, Mitty's teacher, told Mitty he could do interviews to speed up his report. Mitty kept reading about smallpox. He found out that some people had smallpox at a young age, but some recovered, some died. Smallpox killed over one thousand people and even more after years passed by when it started infecting people. An American guy named Donald Henderson was put in charge of World Health Organization program to eradicate smallpox. He made things called ring immunization and it was when someone has smallpox and a large group of people. They would go to that area and give them vaccinations. They gave over fifty thousand vaccinations. Then by October 1977, smallpox, the worst scourge known to earth, is gone forever.

Dear Mitty,

I think you should do your work instead of slacking off. You want to stay in your advanced biology class and your parents want you to stay in that class so you can graduate and soon become a doctor. Even Olivia tells you to do your work but you ignore her like shes not there. Plus you want to stay in that class so you can see Olivia. So you need to focus on your assisignment so you can stay in that class. Mr. Lynch says that if you miss one assisignment, you will be moved into regular biology. You always going out with friends and hangout, thats a good thing but failing a class is a bad thing. So don't slack off and be on task because when you say your ganna do that later, it ends up that your procrastinating and doing at at the last day, at the last hour.

Main Character Development

I am reading Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney. The main character is Mitty. I think its saying that Mitty doesn't wanna fail her advanced biology class because her parents want her to graduate as a med student and Mitty likes Olivia. I think Mitty trys to do her 10 notes assisignment before its due so he has a more likly chance of staying in the class. I think that Mitty doesn't want to disappoint his parents and he doesn't wanna leave the class without Olivia.

I am reading Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney. Mitty realized that if he wants to stay in the class, he has do the his 10 pages of notes. Mitty couldn't go into librarys becaused he didn't live near the city. If he were in a city, he'd just cross the street and head down the block into a Barnes & Noble and go into the science and medicine section. He would copy some stuff and scribble enough sentences to keep Mr. Lynch happy. If Mitty was in New York, he would still be distracted by the winter. Mitty really wanted to stay in the advanced class with Olivia, but he had to do his 10 page notes. He didn't rush into it but he popped in a CD to get him motivated. Mitty's mother bought some books of some dead english authors/doctors. Mitty empty them out and started flipping through pages until he could find a disease. Mitty went down and went into her mother's book room. Acroos the room he spotted an interesting book called Principles of Contagious Disease, Conditions of Infectous Disease, Infectious Illness: Treatment and Containment and A History of Immunlogy. The books were thick and rusty. Mitty picked up the Principles of Contagious Disease. He opened the book and fillped through the book till he found one that was interesting. He felt like watching anything, even figure skateing, than reading a book. Then while he was flipping through the pages, he found an envelope. It was written Scabs- VM epidemic, 1902, Boston. It had pieces of scabs in the envelope. VM meant Variola Major and it was a virus. Mitty decided to do the notes on VM. VM has one task, to take over cells of other creatures.

My third independent reading book is Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney. Since I read only a few pages in 10 minutes, it started out with a person named Mitty. He was in an advanced biology class and he doesn't work. It was a friday and an assignment was due. Mitty had no idea what was due and he asked Derek -who was sitting next to him- what was due? It was 10 pages of notes on a disease. Mr. Lynch (the teacher) starts noticing that Mitty never does his work. If Mitty keeps this up, Mr. Lynch has to move him to regular biology. But Mitty didn't want to switch classes because there was someone in that class he liked. Her name was Olivia Clark. She was always on task, never slacked work. Olivia always nagged Mitty to do his work. Mitty felt that he didn't deserve to be in anything advanced. But his father and mother put pressure on the school and to ensure Mitty's life was to be brilliant in high school, get an awesome college acceptance letter, then go to medical school.

Indie Reading Book

My book that i'm reading is Hatchet. I know its an easy book but I never read it before, I only saw the movie. The main character is Brian Robeson. I've only read up to 24 pages (two chapters) and his personality developes when the pilot had an heart attack. Brian was scared and he didn't know what to do.
